Samsung Beats Apple: Claims The Largest Smartphone Marketer Title

The constant debate between Samsung and Apple has been a major point of interest. Every year after their launch, netizens go crazy with the comparison of the two. Many tech reviewers take special interest when these two phone brands are up with them.

As a fact, Apple is the only brand with iOS; however, multiple brands run on the Android OS. Hence, in their category, Apple has no competition, but Samsung comparatively leads in the Android category. This is the main reason why Samsung and Apple devices are mostly in comparison. Also, these two brands have their own ecosystem, meaning they all have devices that support collaborative work environments. A few years ago, Apple would single-handedly defeat any phone that was compared to it, even if the iPhone was launched two years ago.

But now, the scenario is varying, and it is visible. Concerning performance, Apple's chipset is the best and uncompromising, but in other factors, it lacks a bit. Let's get into the details and find out how Apple lost its glorious crown.

What are the contrasting factors that determine the winner?

Major comparison factors include performance, camera, battery life, software updates, and build quality. Based on these factors, each phone is assigned a point. The one that satisfies the majority of the factors and leads is the ultimate winner.

In the coming years, Samsung has worked a lot on its performance optimization. Today's Samsung is far more capable of running the system smoothly. As for the design and display, Samsung has always been a great provider. Now, they are equipping their devices with more powerful units, which makes their devices durable and long-lasting.

It's not that Apple is getting worse, but keeping up with the current trend is becoming difficult. Years ago, the needs of people were not complicated. Hence, phones were designed to do a minimum number of tasks. However, the recent generation has adapted to work on their smartphones, and hence, it has to bear the load of the tasks.

Understanding and mechanizing the software and hardware based on the needs will enhance the stability of the device. And it is observed that sometimes, when Apple rolls out its software updates on phones, devices behave abnormally. Even though the issue will be solved later with the new update, until then, you have to bear it.

There are a few changes that Samsung has achieved over the years. This has also contributed to their lead. Let's do a deep dive and find out.

Major changes that helped Samsung

  • Samsung was one of the most teased smartphones for being slow and an underperforming device.

  • In addition to this, the devices were fragile, and their longevity was in question.

  • Moreover, their software included a lot of bloatware, which was frustrating to some users.

  • Samsung in India had been operating on the Exynos chipset, whereas other countries had the Snapdragon option. It was one of the disadvantages of the brand.

With evolving ages and needs, Samsung truly wanted to create a better experience for their users. And hence, they have elevated the user experience to a whole new level. Let's see what the major changes are that we could see in the recently launched devices.

  • Better hardware quality and built quality, along with the best display.

  • Great camera quality and sensors.

  • Availability of the Snapdragon version for Indian users.

  • Reduced bloatware and clean UI.

  • There are a lot of AI features and a great collaborative ecosystem.

  • For their recent lineup, which is the S24 series, users will get 7 years of Android updates.

Adapting to the user's needs is a great move by Samsung. All in all, their smartphone capabilities have increased greatly. But are these the only things that have contributed to their success? Or is there something else? Let's find out.

Reasons for Samsung's success in the market

Samsung is one of the leading electronics brands in the world. Apart from smartphones, they manufacture and sell laptops, earbuds, watches, tablets, televisions, and more. People are aware of the brand. But having the top spot in the smartphone market itself is a great deal. There are a few reasons for this case.

Samsung has multiple series in their smartphones. Namely, the A, M, and S series. Both the A and M series are entry-level to mid-range smartphones, with the S being the flagship series. Hence, buyers have options to choose from various price ranges, leading to market capture.

Furthermore, after their S series launch, they also launched “Fan Edition,” or FE. It has also become quite a popular series. The price is lower, with almost similar features, leading to a better experience.

The Note series, which was one of the epic creator tools, was discontinued after 2020. This made netizens and creators disappointed; however, to accommodate them, the “Ultra” in the S series is now modified with the same features and given the place of Note. Which is a way more accessible and neat way to provide an all-in-one device.

Samsung has also improved its battery life, so it lasts longer in a day. And as for the Android updates, seven years of updates surely are a cherry on top. People mostly buy smartphones that could last them for a longer period, so their spending is reduced.

Did you know that the OLED displays used in Apple iPhones are manufactured by Samsung? Quite an interesting fact, right? But now the deal has been called off, and Xiaomi will now provide the displays since they are less expensive than Samsung's. As it is, Samsung will remain unaffected.

Opinions are subjective and differ from person to person. Hence, there may not be a case where people have the same opinion on something. But the numbers in the statistics give us a fair idea of the most popular device in the world. What are your thoughts on this? So what device do you use? And what features of it do you like the most?
